Background & Objectives: Marital adjustment is one of the most common concepts to explain and define the health and continuity of the relationship, and it contributes a lot to the stability of married life. One of the most basic signs of marital adjustment is the "health" of people, and on the other hand, it predicts the state of social health, mental health, and even the phenomenon of divorce the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between marital adjustment and social health of couples.
Materials & Methods: The present research design was a correlation research and is one of the descriptive analytic researches. According to the formula of the structural equations model, 15 times the variables of the samples were considered. In this way, 100 couples, a sample of divorcing couples referring to judicial counseling centers, were selected as available in Isfahan city and filled up the Spanier Marital Adjustment Questionnaire and the Keys Social Health Questionnaire. Structural equation modeling were used Amos 25 software.
Results: The mean and standard deviation were 74.3 ± 38.4 in marital adjustment and 73.57 ± 33.9 in social health. The proposed model had a good fit in normed, comparative and economic incidences of the data. Based on the model fit indices, the marital adjustment had a significant effect on couples’ social health and 64 percent individual variances were attributed to marital adjustment.
Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, educational programs are recommended for couples to increase marital adjustment in order to increase their social health.
