Background & Objectives: Study habits are called skills and habits that increase the student's learning and learning motivation and turn the study into a high-performance study. Study habits and skills can be trained and can be learned. The purpose of this study was to investigate the study habits and its relation with the performance of students of medical sciences in Qom.
Materials & Methods: This study is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study that was conducted on 335 students of Qom University of Medical Sciences who were selected by multi-stage sampling method. To collect data, two questionnaires, demographic and PSSHI (standard study habits questionnaire) were used. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 23 using descriptive statistics and statistical tests.
Results: The mean and standard deviation of the study habits were 43.05±11.99. Pearson correlation coefficient was significantly correlated between reading habits and mean score (P<0.001, r=0.20). The results showed that 45.1% of students had an unfavorable role in taking notes. Statistical tests did not show a significant difference in the mean scores of study habits by sex, marital status, residency status, educational level, college of education (P>0.05). The study showed that the study habits in students who study only the night of the exam were significantly lower than other groups (P<0.001). Students who study in the morning significantly lower reading habits of students who were studying in the evening and at night (P=0.019).

Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the mean score of students' study habits was less than average. Considering the direct correlation with academic performance, the importance of planning to improve the study of students and, consequently, improving the performance of students seems necessary.
